Geothermal study at Sani Dunes
The preparation of an energy and techno-economic study on the potential of utilizing shallow geothermal energy at the SANI DUNES hotel complex. The study aims to investigate the use of water-based heating and cooling systems for the air conditioning coverage of the main building of the complex. These systems will be supplied with water from the existing open network of surface boreholes. The area where the building complex has been erected has a surface water table, resulting in the presence of eight (8) groundwater pumping boreholes around the perimeter of the building. The goal is to lower the groundwater level and prevent its inflow into the underground level of the building. Currently, a central depression pipeline channels the pumped water to a surface receiver.
