Regeneration and reuse of former lignite mines in Western Macedonia region.

Regeneration of a former lignite mines region of about 1800 acres to be reused as a place for recreation, entertainment, sports and environmental education of its visitors.

MEP Engineering Design included the freshwater piping network, the irrigation network pumping stations, the sewage water piping network, the electric power distribution network, all building services and a 85 kW PV plant.

The design was ordered by ΔΕΗ, the Greek Public Power Company and completed in May 2019. The Architectural Design had won the first prize in a competition in 2016.
