On April 23, 2026, Conrad Athens The Ilisian was inaugurated, marking the transition of one of the country’s most recognizable buildings, the historic Hilton Athens, into a new era.
The project constitutes a large-scale, comprehensive redevelopment that transformed the iconic building into a mixed-use complex combining high-end hotel facilities, wellness areas, dining and conference spaces, the House of NYNN members’ club, as well as luxury residences.
SKEMMA Engineers P.C. held full responsibility for the MEP Design and actively supported the project management and site supervision throughout its entire duration, since 2019.
The project’s complexity, the increased operational and aesthetic requirements, and the need to integrate existing and new infrastructures within a complex modernization scheme required a highly precise and adaptable design approach.
Within this framework, emphasis was placed on:
- optimal energy and environmental performance
- reliability and flexibility of the installation
- seamless functional integration of all uses
- support of the demanding business and construction plan
